Michael S. Landy
Board Chair
Michael is a Professor of Psychology and Neural Science at New York University. There, he teaches courses on perception and on the mathematics used for perception and neuroscience research. His research is in the areas of visual perception and control of action, asking questions about how we make perceptual decisions, how multiple sources of sensory information are combined such as vision, hearing and touch, and how visual information is used to control motor actions such as a reach with the hand. His research has mainly been supported by the National Institutes of Health. Michael is also an avocational musician, playing guitar, flute and, more recently, singing in two choruses: The New Amsterdam Singers and Cappella Sur. Michael has been a loyal fan of Brave New World Repertory Theatre (which is based in Ditmas Park, where he lives) since helping with security for their production of To Kill a Mockingbird.
